Hoo-Booooyo – things are heating up behind the scenes! But first…
Midnight Hour Band is playing Nissi’s at the end of the month. But you already know that. So let’s move on to today’s bulletin:
We’ve just scored a night at the Magic Rat in Fort Collins. This coming Wednesday, 2025 Oct 08 at 7pm. When I say ‘we’, I mean an interesting offshoot of the Midnight Hour Band. One I am at least temporarily calling ‘Three Minutes to Midnight’ (I have not secured authorization to employ such name from the affected parties, but that’s how I roll).
Three Minutes to Midnight features the soaring vocals of Cindy and Breanne from MHB, with yours truly (Joe Bear) providing acoustic backing. And Jimmy Z is rumored to be threatening to add some underlayment foundation in places.
I’ll precede that with a set of my digitally enhanced solo madness.
Join us for a fun evening of acoustic tuneage!
Other newsy bits: Back in the early 90s, I was a member of the PowerHouse Blues Band. I do want you to give a listen to East St. Louie Woman – a PHBB original.
Geoff Meyer and I – the very we of PHBB – have reconnected of late, and have been meeting regularly over the last several months to write up a bunch of new songs and record some of them down for public dissemination.
East St. Louie Woman is a reflection of where we were over thirty years ago. Just to whet your whistle for what’s next.
